cool-retro-term
cool-retro-term is a terminal emulator which mimics the look and feel of the old cathode tube screens (CRT).
install
cool-retro-term requires Qt5. It may be installed in various ways. On Ubuntu22 cool-retro-term is available in repositories, install with command :
sudo apt-get install cool-retro-term # will use about 22 MB disk space
Other convinient way is to download and use it in AppImage format. It is available at github pcool-retro-term release page.
usage
Start cool-retro-term with command:
cool-retro-term
Settings such as colors, fonts, and effects can be accessed via context menu.

Lost Terminal is a sci-fi podcast following the journey of a little satellite trying to understand what has happened after Earth stops returning his calls. If you watch it in youtube you will see that visual part of podcast was done with cool-retro-term. Just another idea how creatively use this tool.
